Lakescape - 445 (Pelecanus crispus)

On that evening ...
... the setting was
glorious ...
Sun ... was barely
a meter above horizon
and sending out near
horizontal light ... from
the side ... that was
so beautifully right ...

The Sun ... formed a lovely
... little dot
in the tiny pupil
of this huge, happy
and handsome hunk of a
Pelican ... among
the largest surviving ...
flying birds today
with wing-span reaching
above 11 feet ...

... obviously ...
oblivious of the fact that
his species is hurtling
down the slope
of survival ...

Watch them biggies in a
video-clip, I uploaded today ...

Ah! The Pelican that everyone (almost everyone) is talking about on BF ;)

An extraordinary and beautifully detailed closeup Alok. Well captured guy.

Beautiful video and picture. The light is such a great gift to this excellently detailed portrait.
Ever been to Croatia? Guess not. A beautiful country with many delicacies, esp. the dry-cured ham is very delicious.

Such an artistic piece of work, Alok. The detail is gorgeous and the lighting lovely.

Beautifully lit! We didn't see any in Romania last Spring, but one was observed at Land's End in the UK just a few days before our visit there.
