get this image ...

This lucky shot done
on 22nd August shows
incoming Ruff and
Wood Sandpiper ... and
the outgoing
Oriental Pratincole ...

... the latter coming
here to the area in
mid-late March to breed

The destroyed wetlands
of Basai ...
Once ...
... a mind-blowing
destination
to watch dozens of
migratory species in
one go ...

The area ... though
extremely disturbed
and degraded ... still
holds attraction for
some species ... in
very small numbers
albeit ...

Watch them in a video

shows Red-naped Ibis and
Black-headed Ibis ...
... making it a
mix of summer visitor
resident and winter
visitor species
