'Oops, I almost toppled'--a great dynamic composition of this well-loved sandpiper! The brown on the back matches the rock's colouration, and the coppery cracks and crevices are vividly accentuated by the photographer's lens. Interesting, also, how the picture is divided into two parts by the left diagonal, with the sandpiper's back, bill and legs lying in perfect alignment with this imaginary line.
