WOW, beautiful specimen and picture of it, Graham!!! :clap: :clap: Lovely to have it composed with the pine-cone!!! :bounce:

But... why is this the Northern Wall Brown? |8.| It looks exactly like the Scandinavian form (borealis) of the Large Wall Brown (Lasiommata maera). As far as I know, the Northern Wall Brown has several eyes in the upper hindwing (not only three like yours) and the big black eye in the upper forewing has only one white spot (not two, like yours).

I don't want to be a pest, or refute other more experienced "Butterfliers". Just wanted to make you consider a possible mistake to be sure on the ID. At least, I hate to have misidentified my own Butterflies!
