Last hunt of the day - Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis)

Actually a photograph, but it turned out so blurry that I'm classifying it as art. October is a wonderful month around here to view Eastern Bluebirds. The weather is still nice, the adults have completed the feeding of their young, and the young have learned to hunt on their own. This male adult Eastern Bluebird was looking toward the setting sun and over the horse pasture yesterday afternoon. In typical fashion, he was using this fence post as his lookout tower in order to search for insects/larvae on the ground. As I began to approach him, I got this shot, but he flew from the post too soon for me to get a good photo.

Sadly, mine have moved on and won't get to see them until the Spring. So make sure you take lots of shots of these guys so I don't go through withdrawal ;) A lovely image.

Pretty lighting and pose in this charming study.
