Latest home patch lifer (Loxia pytyopsittacus)

Not a lot of birds about when I walked to the Botanical Gardens and the Lade Trail one day last October. Fall migration was pretty much over, so no waders at the mudflats, and the thrushes and warblers mostly gone from the woods. But I heard a flock of something unfamiliar flying by several times and sort of whispered to myself "please, please settle where I can see you" ... and they did |=)| High up in a white spruce, but at least they chose one at the edge of that thicket in the arboretum area, and there was a bench at the right distance where I could sit, "blend in", and steady my elbows against the back rest while peering up at them. Not great shots, but decent enough.
