LD - Spot-Flanked Gallinules (Porphyriops melanops)

Yesterday's were three colorful and at least nearly sharp close-ups, but no new lifers. Today's include two new lifers, but distant and mediocre shots. We only saw the spot-flanked gallinules at this one stop - picnic lunch on day 2. Seen at some distance, so not great shots, but it would have been a shame to lose them.

Nice looking birds Ann - good job you didn't lose these pictures then eh!!

No congrats... as it's an LD;)

Great record of it, Ann. I'm guessing you'd have no record at all if you used your DSLR at that distance? I'm actually quite wary of going to my local reservoirs, as I've only got a 200mm (300mm effective) lens; I had 1020mm with my FZ150, and that wasn't always enough reach ;)
