Lean Back Shrike (Lanius collurio)

Caught this shrike taking a rest, It must be very hard work hunting in the hot weather. He seems to be leaning back on his tail feathers for support while he rested.

Super shot Donald with a good pose and a clean BG to set it off nicely. Never seen one of these myself.
 
I remember these being almost as common as sparrows when I was in Greece. A crackin bird and a lovely photo, well done.
 
Very curious capture, Donald... maybe the fence was just an obstacle in the tails way? ;) Lovely and different, anyway!!! o:) :t: :t:
