Leaping Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax)

Last June, I posted an image of this heron as it was perched motionless on some rock and he was quite photogenic. Not so much today as it leaps over a channel to get to the other side of the muddy bank. But I liked him doing that, as a change from its motionless pose.Taken from quite a distance.

A superb capture Joelle! great detail and action...a lovely setting too, very well done :t:

Yeah, it is so boring when they are motionless. Superbly timed & captured beautifully in mid-air, Joelle!! tfs.

A wonderful stop action, Joelle, and it certainly is a change from its normal pose.

Super timing on thos leaping bird!! It's nice to see something different than a stone still pose from a bird like this. A thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable photo, tfs!
