Leaping Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax)

Last June, I posted an image of this heron as it was perched motionless on some rock and he was quite photogenic.Not so much today as it leaps over a channel to get to the other side of the muddy bank.But I liked him doing that, as a change from its motionless pose.Taken from quite a distance.

Great bit of timing Joelle and its a cracking image. Could just do to be sitting on that bank right now... still it would probably be quite cold if not pouring down!!!
