Leaping Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax)

Last June, I posted an image of this heron as it was perched motionless on some rock and he was quite photogenic.Not so much today as it leaps over a channel to get to the other side of the muddy bank.But I liked him doing that, as a change from its motionless pose.Taken from quite a distance.

Wow! Great work Joelle! Usually when that sort of sudden action occurs, I get so startled that I forget to push the shutter button, or if I do push it I get a shaky shot :S
