Least Flycatcher (Empidonax minimus)

Last day of our wonderful Panama-Costa Rica trip with NatGeo/Linblad. We were taken on a coastal walk along the Drake Bay Hiking Trail and saw 29 species of birds - quite a few lifers (still working on my list!!) Hoping I've got the ID correct for this little flycatcher, as my Central America field guide shows it wintering further north in Costa Rica! It was a very cooperative little bird and sat still for about 30 seconds!!
Habitat
Rainforest/coastal area
Location
Drake Bay, Corcovado NP, Costa Rica
Date taken
4-4-2019
Scientific name
Empidonax minimus

Isn't he adorable? Back in 1969 1970, I lived in Panama. It was such a beautiful place and I still have memories. My Dad was stationed at Balboa and Curund. I remember seeing pirate forts and lots of jungle.

I will take your word on the ID Helen. Empidonax flycatchers are notoriously difficult and go to a foreign country and tackle one. Hooray for you my friend. It is a precious little thing! TFS!
