Lesser Black Backed Gull juvenile

Lesser Black Backed Gull juvenile

I have tried to ID this fella and there are mixed feelings...could be GBB Gull juvenile, Lesser or Herring G juvenile. What ever it was it dwarfed the other ducks etc at Grimley, Worcs and looked very impressive amongst the other gulls.

I don't 'do' gulls Ian LOL It always helps if there's an adult nearby. But if he dwarfed everything else, he had to be one of the two biggies.

Actually don't think it's a Herring Gull, and I've a feeling the GBBG plumage is a bit darker. The Id forum would help you.

A super picture this lad - very well done.

Brilliant capture and close-up on that fabulous perch. You can certainly get the feeling of its massive size. Top-notch Ian!
