Lesser Butterfly Orchid

Lesser Butterfly Orchid (Platanthera bifolia)

Just returned from a week in Grimsay, Outer Hebrides with chums Mr & Mrs CEJ. Was hoping to see Hebridean Marsh Orchid and Irish Ladys-tresses but the former had long gone over and the latter was still in tight bud. Conditions for plant photography were atrocious with strong winds most of the week and a lot of rain, but I was pleased to see Lesser Butterfly Orchid, a plant becoming more and more difficult to find at home. Taken early morning in poor light.
