LESSER REDPOLL (carduelis cabaret)

Got about a thousand images of these super little birds earlier in the year,and as i have no new images at the moment i thought i'd sort through them.This was the more colourful of the two males that were present.I believe he was coming into his breeding plumage,and soon after this session he was gone.

A very nice shot of a redpoll. They are common on my silver birches during our summer months here in Hawke's Bay NZ. He is well coloured.
