Lewis's Woodpecker awing (Melanerpes lewis)

Here's the Lewis's Woodpecker on the wing from his feeding snag to a nearby oak tree. I watched him early this morning (frost still on the ground) for about a half hour and he flew back and forth between these trees four times. I was lucky enough to catch him on the wing this one time. Arastradero Open Space Preserve, Palo Alto, California.
