Lift Off (Egretta garzetta)

A Little Egret preparing to take off from a reedbed pool at Strumpshaw Fen on Saturday. There are astonishing numbers of these in the local area now and it doesn't seem that long ago that they were a quite rare sight. They are still very impressive looking birds to see amongst the reeds. Ron
