Little Blue Heron (imm)

Southern California isn't exactly Little Blue Heron territory so this guy has caused a bit of commotion around here.

He's been hanging around the Playa Del Rey area since about the middle of May.

Yesterday I set out to see if I could find him at the Ballona Freshwater Marsh. I got lucky and found him in the south pond.

When he first arrived in May he was all white.
