Little Egret (Egretta garzetta)

None of today's posts are lifers. Well, the Whiskered Tern was a lifer this trip, but today's post wasn't my first shot of one. Night Herons I'd seen in California, but more or less "tamed" by living along an urban lake with thousands of people hiking and jogging round it daily. And Little Egret I had seen once on a trip to Ireland, but this trip I got much closer, and eventually also got a shot or two that I didn't totally burn out the whites on (as I did here :S). So in a sense, these are "firsts". Tomorrow's posts will be all be true lifers.
By the way, Norwegian has a much lovelier name for Little Egret - Silkehegre (Silky Heron). A deservedly elegant name, don't you think?
