Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis)

.... or Dabchick as a lot of us like to call them!

This Little Grebe was swimming along the ditch, but the blooking grass kept getting in the way, spoiling the pictures. Around this time we managed to clamber up the bank and I got this image without the grass... well one stalk seems to be giving a bit of a natural frame, so I'll let it off.

love these beauties and they do well on my local but i can never get close.super image delia and super little bird.all the best margaret.
