Habitat
It is found across the UK although is largely absent from upland areas. Look for it wherever there are suitable lakes, gravel pits, canals and slow rivers with plenty of vegetation. In winter it can be found on more exposed lakes, as well as sheltered coa

A lovely picture to get too, well done laddie. They're usually a bit too far away for me... one day!! LOL

Lovely capture, I tried to get one yesterday but he swam off in he opposite direction as soon as I lifted my camera!
