Little Owl
We finally left Abbey Farm and set off back home for dinner - however, Peter wasn't finished with me yet and on a quiet back country lane found me a Little Owl that I could properly look at.

High up on a telegraph pole. Down went the window and out came the camera.... click, click, click then he flew off to another pole so tried again.

Got back in the car and realised I'd been shooting at f7.1 in the very nearly dark, so made a bit of a mess of that, didn't I.

Still I got a picture of my 4th bird Lifer of the trip, making 7 in all with the mammals and a call.

Thanks to Keith Dickinson for managing to get something visible out of the image for me.

We don't get Little Owls in Scotland, and I've failed on numerous attempts in England and Wales to see them.

Thanks Peter, Gillian, Ian and Family for all the lovely hospitality that weekend.

Great shot in bad light Delia, reminds me of the one I took in Dorset in the evening light, Tfs

You needed the car headlights on this one Delia...Glad you got another newbie lass.

Well Done Delia despite all you trials you have your lifer & your image too. Congrats.

You can seldom get to see them in good light, let alone get a decent shot. They don't give you time to change your camera setting anyway, so you did well to capture him & retrieve the image, Delia; nice capture!! tfs.

Well, you can sure tell it's a night owl ;)
But honestly, I'm green with envy!! I've only seen one owl (a barn owl) so far in my whole birding life! Harummpphhh! )=)r/#

Great bird to get Delia, and there is no mistaking that pose. Funny how they do appear in day time unlike most other owls.
