Loggerhead Shrike up and personal (Lanius ludovicianus)

After landing right next to my head and posing this awesome 'butcherbird' spotted a lizard just a few feet away and went in for the kill. I missed the kill/carnage shots (focus) but got some amazing closeups beforehand. This is one of many. An amazing experience! :)

Cor!!! You lucky b*!!! The shrikes I've seen have mostly been 100 yds away!!!

That's a fantastic close-up Victor, with some lovely feather detail. Excellent work lad.

Thanks Delia, it was amazing to witness so close, especially the lizard kill, wish I had captured that moment as well.
