Lost Wilderness ... (Galerida cristata)

Song of an
Oblivious Lark ...

An image taken at
the lost wetland and
wilderness areas ...

... when Larks used
to sing merrily
there ...
Sitting unassumingly
On a heap ...
Excavated from
... Earth's womb
... laid waste and
ruined by society ...
... civil ...
yet ... far more wild
and
a fellow species
gone berserk ...

Listen to an amazing
array of calls and
song produced by this
beautiful bird in the
video-clip I've
uploaded ...

WOW, what an absolutely stunning close-up of this Crested Lark. The feather and eye detail are amazing along with the fabulous colors. Impressive Alok & Renu!!!!

Fantastic close-up! I wonder if they've found a new haven. What with the rate of human population growth we're seeing world-wide, there's less and less habitat left for all those other species we depend on. Of course, at some point, we'll die back from the imbalances we've created. Hopefully the others will recover then.
