LOW DOWN AND DIRTY

LOW DOWN AND DIRTY

You can hardly see the bird it is so small in the picture and even then you only see the head. A few rules broken here but I think ,or hope, interest is maintained. Title is "low down and dirty" because I buried by lens low in the grass and just kept it up enough with my thumb....dirty because I had to lay in sheep muck and a lot of it, to get about 30 shots with similar effect. I just did different compostions. It was not fun for the passengers on the two buses I caught on the way home from the shoot! Full frame.
Habitat
moorland
Location
Holcombe moor, full of sheep

Equipment used
Canon 20D Sigma 500mm
Oh My! Poor you... as I suppose you didn't get into the muck on purpose! ;) This is a very original presentation, never seen a picture with a bird so "buried" in the lawn. I'm fascined by the sharpness and detail you got in that little head framed by the gosty looking grass. Very interesting, and different. I love it!!!

That was a great idea Adrian. I find grass can make a pretty dismal setting for a bird picture although of course it could hardly be more natural and you've made it far more interesting by doing this. I expect Marian will soon be following your example. ;)

Thats a fantastic image AD looks like its popping its head out of a Monet painting .....smells ok from here too ....LMAO next time you travel on Public Transport change your socks :p Excellent would be on a nail if it were mine

Fantastic image, Adrian! Makes you want to look at it a longer time. Brilliant work and nice performing before a live audience.. :) Love it!

This is a lovely and artististic capture Adrian. Well done, Glad you braved the sheep...
