Lurking in the dark (Araneus diadematus)

This afternoon I found a nice large garden spider on its web. Any attempt to get near it to photograph it led to its running up its web and hiding under a leaf. So I went back after dark with a torch and there it was in the centre of its web and it didn't budge when I shone the torch on it. So armed with the torch to illuminate it for my autofocus and an external flash I tried several night time shots. This is probably the best.
