Madam moorhen and three (Gallinula chloropus)

Another park-goer told me she lived in the area and had been bird-watching in the park for 30 years. This was the first time she'd seen Moorhen chicks, though they'd surely been breeding successfully there for years. The moorhens are only now becoming less shy. I'll be posting more shots of these wee ones too.

LOL, I am glad you said three. I saw mum, and two chicks then I realized I missed one of the chicks. Brilliant picture Doc! Three fabulous posts today!!!
