Magpie
Love them or loathe them, they are still very striking birds.

I must admit it depresses me, when I meet so-called Bird lovers who say they actually hate this species or that species. I just don't understand that attitude at all. When it comes to the magpie they start waxing lyrical about how evil & cruel they are, when surely they are only instinct driven, so simply do what comes naturally.

The fact is, most of the people I've come across with this idiotic approach, were members of the hunting / shooting brigade, who, as far as I'm concerned have absolutely no place to talk, given the fact that they themselves actually go around killing our wildlife ... for FUN! :-(

No, sadly, we are the only creatures capable of the crime of displaying malice & performing acts of evil on our fellow creatures, so I contest that we are in absolutely no position to judge the instinct driven actions of these much maligned & to me, gorgeous & fascinating birds.
