Male Blackbird (Turdus merula)

A busy dad by the looks of it, collecting some mealworms that I'd thrown down on the the grassy slope.

This guy is probably a son of Mr Spotty who disappeared last December. Sadly I don't see this one around now. There was another one with lots of white too that I saw a few weeks later, and don't see him around either.

It's such a shame, as Mr Spotty used to come to my window, but none of the newer blackies do.

great capture tfs but I must say Delia I hope you have the mountain climbing ropes attached while you lean out of the window LoL (we are fine at the moment take Karin for her weekly blood test in the morning)
 
Wonderful catch of this bird with his beak full of food, well done Delia. Maybe the new birds will come in closer over time.
