Male Blackbird

Male Blackbird (Turdus merula)

A busy dad by the looks of it, collecting some mealworms that I'd thrown down on the the grassy slope.

This guy is probably a son of Mr Spotty who disappeared last December. Sadly I don't see this one around now. There was another one with lots of white too that I saw a few weeks later, and don't see him around either.

It's such a shame, as Mr Spotty used to come to my window, but none of the newer blackies do.

Taken leaning out the window!!

Oooops... nearly forgot. You lot are useless ID'ers;) Yesterday's quiz was a Dunnock!!!

A beautiful, top view of this Blackbird D.

Lovely feather sheen and detail girl.

June was a good month for todays female BB . A lovely male capture yours. Only one male BB here is not shy. Sparrowhawks do not like mice. Sad LOL.

A wonderful look from above, Delia! That green grass really brings out this black beauty.

Nice bird and a very fine composition.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Great bird, well taken, love them, in Spring when they will come and tap on the window when they are feeding young. What do you mean ..useless ID'ers.. a wee bit of blurred bum! I suppose we should be thankful it wasn't just a toe nail.8-P
