Male Northern Cardinal in flight (Cardinalis cardinalis, Parus bicolor)

Was fortunate to get this shot this morning ... It wasn't intentional, believe me! I snapped the shutter thinking I would get him still on the branch, but. just that second, he flew from it! This Cardinal is most likely the one I've named "Pretty Boy". It was 75 F here today, but tomorrow night it's supposed to go down to 28 F. This is my last post for a few days because I'm preparing for a craft show on Saturday, where I'll have a jewelry booth. Have a great weekend, everyone!
Habitat
meadow, farmland, horse pasture
Location
backyard, near Fort Ashby, WV, USA
Date taken
3-26-15
Scientific name
Cardinalis cardinalis, Parus bicolor
Equipment used
Olympus SP-510 UZ
How lucky that he moved just when you took the shot! Beautiful shot and great timing! Good luck at your craft fair!

LOL ... the angels are coming!! Isn't it wonderful when that sort of thing happens.

A super picture you've got of him Adele - very well done lass.

Good luck with the craft show - I hope you drum up some interest.

Thanks, everyone, for the compliments and well wishes! It's amazing I caught the wings in that position because it was only one shot, not multiple exposures.
