male reed bunting (emberiza schoeniclus)

love these little guys and this one seems to be building a nest near where i feed the birds at the pond and always comes over for some, not afraid at all and comes very close.infact the other day i threw seed on the edge of the pond on the ground as usual and this little guy was there and did not move as he got hit by the seed just started eating it.by the way i never saw him when i threw the seed or i would have thrown it at the other side.

Such a lovely, low level shot of this Bunting Mags. Beautifully captured girl.

LOL Margaret, it sounds like you should have gone to Specsavers! Fancy hitting this sweet little guy with all that seed;)

Still... he obviously forgave you 'cos he's posed for a super picture, hasn't he LOL. You've captured his colours beautifully too.

Hi Mags, a superb detailed close-up of this handsome little chap and a great narrative !!! Thanks for sharing.

A beautiful Reed Bunting portrait and a wonderful story, Margaret! I must confess I'm envious. Reed Buntings do not react to me like this at all. For some reason they view me as a deadly threat and fly off as soon as they see me. I have to be very sneaky to get any sort of pictures at all. :)
