male sparrowhawk (accipiter nisus)

hi all.my other garden visitor,he is around most days but my back garden is even more gloomier than the weather here to get a capture.it is very interesting watching this guy and the interactions he has.the magpies almost sit next to him flicking their tail and making their clicking calls trying to move him but from what i see of raptors and corvids and i have seen 6 magpies surround this little guy,the corvids keep a certain distance and only chase when the raptor has decided its had enough.have seen my little birds feeding on my feeders as this guy was less than 4 feet from it they grab food and run.watched a pigeon eating food from the ground in front of this guy that truly amazed me to see.a bluetit flying into the shrub beside this guy calling i think(we know your there).a birds life.long story again.

Another great collage and a fabulous narrative about the relationship of this raptor with your other birds, especially the magpies. TFS Margaret!!!!!

so lovely it must be watching all this, i just wonder about some people here have such big and nice garden but they never enjoy it, they pay so much for gardening but they don't know anything about the birds they get in there garden. once i visited some friends and we had tea in the garden they were so amazed when i pointed out to them that they have a weaver, sunbirds, bulbuls, many warblers, and a black bush robin, along with the the typical ones like the sparrows, Indian silverbills and palm doves.
