Yes this is the superb fairy wren. Scientific Name: Malurus cyaneus .

Bird positively explodes out of the otherwise muted brown hues of the ground colours. These are certainly a bird that can't be denied. Good image. :t: :t: :t:
 
Saw these lovely birds when I visited Australia last year, sadly never had my camera handy. A super photo there Birte, well done mate.

What a perky chap he is. Just love his boldness. A really great shot of this beautiful little bird. I saw one a few days ago in full breeding colours, but only the one so far.
