male yellow wagtail
B

male yellow wagtail (motacilla flava)

This looks like the subspecies "cinereocapilla", taking into account the whitish throat and the lack of a white supercilium; but the hint of a small white spot behind the eye may indicate an hybrid cinereocapilla - flava. The majority of our breeding birds are flava but a small fraction concerns indeed cinereocapilla.

I just love yellow birds. He looks so good suited in yellow and gray plumage. He or She looks as if it has something important to say.

Oh my!!! That's a fantastic picture you've taken of this pretty wagtail JJ.

Many thanks for showing him to us my friend. I love them but don't get to see them here sadly.

A brilliant study of this very pretty wagtail, JJ, and a lovely setting.
