That's such a lovely picture you've taken of this Mallard Matko.
Actually it's a male, not a female. He's in eclipse plumage (the stage during late summer when they lose their breeding plumage and are temporarily unable to fly - at least well!).
That reminds me, we don't have a picture showing this plumage in The Opus, so I'll upload your lovely picture to the article shortly.

The dead giveaway is the colour of the beak, which remains greenish-yellow, as opposed to the females, which is brown with orange sides.
