Marbled White

Marbled White (Melanargia galathea)

Most of the butterflies I have seen over the last four weeks are either Marbled Whites or Meadow Browns , very few of other species.I took this picture of a Marbled White last Sunday afternoon as I was walking near the harbour ,keeping to the shady paths because of the sun. It was among the tall grasses in a former orchard.
Thank you for your very nice comments on my image of a wheatear.
