marsh warbler (acrocephalus palustris)

a rather rare breeder here. I actually hadn't seen one for many years, I forgot what fabulous singers they are. The male of this couple had a large range of imitations, with stunning renderings of the short-toed treecreeper call and the most amazing imitations of the alarm-rattle of a blackbird.
Habitat
wetland, scattered willow trees and reed edge
Location
La Buisse, Isre, France
Date taken
09 June 2018
Scientific name
acrocephalus palustris
Equipment used
Canon EOS 550D + Canon EF 400mm
Outstanding capture JJ! Looks like there's the possibility of a family soon. Great job.

Cor!!!! Now that is a nice warbler, isn't it. I did try to find one in Lithuania once and was told to sit by a certain ditch and I'd hear one singing.... hmmmmph there's some birds just won't co-operate for me!!!

You've a super picture of this guy - very well done my friend.

She seems to have a very worn tail, doesn't she.
