Masked Lapwing Vanellus miles. One of the Plover family, this bird used to be known as the Spur-winged Plover, because adults have a sharp spur at the forward bend of the wing, which they could use to deter an intruder too close to the nest. They nest in a very slight depression on the ground, not really a nest at all, but the eggs are so beautifully camouflaged that they're incredibly hard to see.
