Very, very nice shot, you could imho make the picture a little bit better by blurring the direct surroundings of the bird, especially around the head and bill (some noise).
 
A very nice shot indeed, the wire makes for an interesting perch too. At 28.1k its very compressed for the size its shown at, but I bet the full file looks stunning.
 
Yes a very crisp shot - Well done. I have thought about getting this lens combo and your shots are convincing me to move in that direction. What distance where you from the bird ? What percentage of the frame is the crop ?

the distance to the bird is probably 5 meters. It is a 70% crop of the original. The combo is very good indeed, the lense is very sharp and fast. It is good for birds that are not too far away, although the 8.2 mp camera allows much cropping. But I will probably move up to a bigger lense when I can afford to buy one.
