Ya know, I used to think the Rose-breasted Grosbeak was the prettiest but after seeing this Grosbeak in its breeding plumage, I have to change my mind. This is a beautiful capture.

So do I. They tend to be an 'irruptive' bird, here in the West. Can't count on them from year to year. Morphologically, they are very similar to the European Hawfinch. :t:

Thanks, KC. Digishooter...I have them here year round, but their appearances are sporadic...Sometimes I won't see them for weeks, and then sometimes they will visit several times a day. I just never know. But I sure do enjoy them when they visit!
