This one threw me as so different looking from the mature ones,...red eye was the give away.

They do have beautiful eyes, don't they.

A lovely capture in that lovely soft lighting. I've found a new bird to love after viewing your other image ;)
 
Thanks - was really at the outer edg of the lens range and looking into a bright sky. Barely made the cut. Did not even know what it was. We are fortunate here in FNQ ( far north Queensland ) that we get the Metallic Starling this time of year as they are mostly in Papua New Guinea to our north. When I get my P900 back I'm looking for some better shots as they are truly gorgeous birds,
