they don't call them common gull anymore. Actually not at all common where we live, so I was really glad to seem many of them during these couple of days in Normandy.
Think this is a 2nd winter bird.
I still think of them as "Common Gulls" (but then I think in feet and yards, though we went decimal here in 1966 ) Whatever you call them, I think they're an attractive species (more so than Black-headed). And this excellent image shows that perfectly: delicately proportioned and elegant, with the dark eye that gives them a more "gentle" expression than Herring Gull. Beautiful shot JJ.
