Mipit in the mountains (Anthus pratensis)

July 12 I drove up to the mountains south of Trondheim together with Suzon Abu Jafar. First stop was Fokstugumyrin. Delia will remember the place. I had promised her Bluethroat, and sure enough, there they were (although not until we were nearly back at the parking lot ;) ). This time there were fewer birds, I assume since this year there was not an ongoing eruption of Epiritta butterflies and their millions of green caterpillars. Fewer caterpillars, fewer birds. But this Meadow Pipit was obviously raising a brood and finding enough food for them.
