Mistletoe Tyrannulet
Paltry Tyrannulet (Zimmerius vilissimus parvus) Most authors recognize two subspecies of this little bird with only subspecies parvus being mapped for Panama. However, Clements places the Venezuelan Tyrannulet under synonymy under the Paltry Tyrannulet and then recognizes its three (including the nominate) subspecies, making five recognized subspecies of the Paltry Tyrannulet. I love the diagonal composition of this image. A delightful shot of this lovely little bird in the rain. A wonderfully colourful image, given the conditions. Very nice indeed Stanley.
