Mistletoe Tyrannulet
Paltry Tyrannulet (Zimmerius vilissimus parvus) Most authors recognize two subspecies of this little bird with only subspecies parvus being mapped for Panama. However, Clements places the Venezuelan Tyrannulet under synonymy under the Paltry Tyrannulet and then recognizes its three (including the nominate) subspecies, making five recognized subspecies of the Paltry Tyrannulet. Photographed near La Mesa, north of El Valle de Antn, Cocl Province, Panama. Secondary humid forest at ca. 823 m (2,700 ft) elevation. Sexes similar.

Good evening Stanley,
the Paltry Tyrannulet has now been split by both IOC and Clements into four species. The form in Panama is now named Mistletoe Tyrannulet.
