My local patch attracts a mixed finch flock most winters. This year it's about 250 birds comprising mostly Linnet and Goldfinch each 100+ followed by Greenfinch and Chaffinch. A few Yellowhammer sometimes join in but mostly keep to themselves in their own group. They've been feeding on an area of oil seed rape that was left uuharvested due to a large area of soggy ground around a pylon - the next best thing to set aside!
