Moment of Passion? (Falco tinnunculus.)

Another of my Kestrel Photos from yesterday. My question is are they mating, which seems a little early in the year, playing or a moment of passion, or does anyone else have a serious explanation for this behavior.

super capture john and i know the corvids here are showing breeding signs but im in scotland so it does look like he is trying his luck.many tfs but looks like he will have some time to go,tfs.all the best margaret.

LOL John... I reckon he's short-sighted and didn't see her till it was too late!!

It does seem a bit early, doesn't it.

A great picture and so well timed too - well done lad.
 
Wondering if they might be 1st winter juveniles John, learning the moves so to speak ;)

Well John, he looks serious enough about it but I am not sure she is quite ready? A fabulous double capture!!!!
