I took the photograph at Dindory , Madhyapradesh, India.
I think this is a Northern Goshawk. But It confused me because it has no strip on its head . Can anybody help me to identify the bird please.

This is definately a Kestrel and probably an immature Common Kestrel with markings on wing coverts a variation to the area. They are certainly not as commonly found in Western Europe.

I adore Kestrels and bred them in large nombers in the 1960/70's and this is a charming shot.
