Montezuma Oropendola
Montezuma Oropendola (Psarocolius montezuma) Sexes similar in appearance but the female is considerably smaller. Photographed at Rancho Naturalista, Tayutic, Cartago Province, Costa Rica. The purplish/pink flowers in the background is Porter Weed (Stachytarpheta sp.: Verbenaceae). Submontane cloud forest at ca. 914 m (3,000 ft) elevation; Caribbean-slope.
